Top Nashville Sports Bars
The first weekend of college football has already come and gone which simply means there is loads more football to come.
Thanks to Nashville’s exploding restaurant scene, there are plenty of great sports bar locations to take in a game with friends, and I want to highlight some that I have enjoyed as we continue on into football season. I’m not claiming these are the “best” spots to go, but you will certainly have a good time…unless you are like me and when your team loses you are not capable of having a good time.
Hopsmith Tavern
Hopsmith Tavern is one of the newer members of the Midtown area located next door to the Slider House. Great food, a really cool atmosphere and a solid beer selection make Hopsmith Tavern a perfect place to view your favorite team. They even have some special tables with self-serve beer taps. I accidentally experienced the NFC Divisional round game here last year when this happened, and the place absolutely went crazy and solidified itself as one of my favorite sports bars.

Double Dogs
Double Dogs first Nashville location is in Hillsboro Village, and the second location opened in Sylvan Heights. The food is great and they have a healthy beer selection. Get the thai garlic wings and thank me later. I have not done the research, but I will confidently say no Nashville sports bar boasts as many screens as Double Dogs. So if you want to be efficient with your football viewing and have eyes on all the games you can handle, Double Dogs is your place.
Smokin Thighs
Smokin Thighs started off as a food truck before opening up their physical location in the Wedgewood-Houston area in 2014. Smokin thigh’s specialty is smoked and grilled chicken, which I will say is truly special and worth the trip. One wall is stacked end to end with TV’s allowing patrons to view multiple games. They also sport over 100 varieties of moonshine if that is your thing, as well as beer and cocktails.
Hi-Fi Clydes
Formerly known as Clyde’s on Church, Hi-Fi Clydes boasts an exciting atmosphere to both view games and play games. If ping-pong is your game, then Clydes is the place for you as they have five tables throughout the restaurant and patio. Foosball and shuffleboard tables are also available. Clydes has a huge space with plenty of comfortable seating options, so it’s a perfect place to take a larger group.
Martin’s Downtown
Everyone knows about Martin’s, one of the city’s most well known barbecue spots. Martin’s fifth location in Nashville was opened in 2016 in SoBro. The barbecue and other food is top notch and worth going for alone, but the difference maker for this downtown location is the upstairs beer garden and multiple bar options. It’s not crazy to spend a whole afternoon there thanks the amazing atmosphere, food, drinks, darts, shuffleboard and other games.
